COFFEEVILLE COFFEE

Have you had a chance to experience the spectacular new Coffeeville Co. in Brookfield, WI yet? If not, you are in for an absolute treat! Head on over, grab a warm, fresh cinnamon roll alongside a delicious peach iced tea, and relax outside. You can watch the train go by from the patio, or head back inside to enjoy the view from the cozy seating area!

There are so many unique, incredible design features in this space that you truly have to experience in person to believe. The only hint I can give for now is "All Aboard"!

Architecture for this incredible transformation was provided by Galbraith Carnahan Architects.

The historic Brookfield Junction Depot building, originally constructed in 1867, served as a bustling train depot and central social hub for the community. Over the decades, however, this marvelous structure lost its shine and was sadly slated for demolition.

Now, the building has been given a vibrant new life after a remarkable 350-foot move up the hill to its new home at 2825 N. Brookfield Road. This charming former train depot not only houses the new Coffeeville Co., but will also serve as a wonderful trailhead for the Waukesha County Fox River bike trail.

Many thanks to ConceptWorks for collaborating with us on some custom pieces—such as our custom Arrivals and Departures sign—to help bring this creative vision to life! Schmidt Flooring was also absolutely wonderful to work with, helping us select the perfect, beautifully distressed wood for the floors and accent walls.

We even turned a charming little nook into a functional work counter. It was fascinating to unearth the rich history of this building and reveal the layers of craftsmanship hidden under decades of paint. If these walls could talk, they would have endless stories to tell!

We also preserved the original train ticketing window. The original depot was previously divided into smaller utility rooms, and the ticketing window formed part of these historic partitions. We carefully relocated the original window and wall section to thoughtfully divide the new main area from the historic depot space, intentionally leaving the original weathered layers visible to honor its unique past.

Additionally, we uncovered an original train map at the Elmbrook Historical Society, had it professionally photographed at high resolution, and blew it up to create a breathtaking wall backdrop for the coffee counter and retail area. We made sure Milwaukee and Brookfield were prominently featured. You will definitely have to grab a cup of coffee and see if you can spot Brookfield on the map—I will even buy coffee for the first 5 people who correctly report back its location!
