Library Hill Clubroom Remodel

Milwaukee, Wisconsin

We were tasked with updating the clubroom at Library Hill Apartments, located at 740 W. Wisconsin Avenue. This space was originally developed in 1999 by the Milwaukee Redevelopment Corporation (MRC) in partnership with the Mandel Group as part of a significant downtown revitalization project. The goal was to transform a blighted block into workforce housing and retail, which included restoring historic buildings and adding new construction.

Our specific charge was to enhance the clubroom's functionality to better accommodate its use for private parties, as a study area, and as a general lounge space for residents.

We designed the front work zone to include locked storage and coat hanging space for guests. We enhanced the open-concept layout by removing a large fireplace that previously divided the space and obstructed the view from the front doors, addressing a safety concern.

Leveraging the abundant natural light, we intensified the color saturation while establishing a dark backdrop to make the artwork visually prominent. We installed durable wood-look flooring throughout the entire space and defined a seating area in front of the TV with an area rug.

Below is the Floor Plan to help you better understand the space and how it flows and BEFORE images to see the complete transformation.
