South Water Street Condo
Milwaukee, Wisconsin
This rooftop penthouse in the 5th Ward, originally built in 1875 and reconstructed in 2002, offers beautiful views of the city and Milwaukee River. Our design objective was to update the space while maximizing its potential. One of our primary modifications involved raising and re-routing the ducts, which were originally mounted low. This adjustment significantly enhanced the expression of the space's height in every room.
In the Master Bathroom the footprint was generous, its 13-foot ceilings were out of proportion, and we aimed to create a more human-scaled space. We also wanted to leverage the existing skylight, which provided beautiful natural light. To address this, we designed a custom vanity that perfectly fit between the shower and the wall. This allowed us to fully customize the interior with large roll-out drawers and pull-outs specifically for a hairdryer and curling iron, optimizing functionality.
